“Brainwashing Machine” is an art installation designed to show and tell about the information war of Russia against Ukraine, as well as about the total propaganda, lies, and fooling of Russians by the state media of the Russian Federation.
Television is still the main, and for many, the only source of news. More than 60 percent of Russians receive news information on television. And among citizens older than 50 years, this proportion is more than 80 percent.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Putin's approval ratings have risen from 69% to over 80%, according to the independent polling institute 'Levada'. And the war in Ukraine is supported by three out of four respondents.
It comes to the point that a mother living in Russia trusts Russian television more than her daughter in Ukraine. Every year, since 2014, Russia has spent billions of dollars on its propaganda and information war against Ukraine.
